Bishop’s Cap

Bishop's Cap is a chubby star-shaped succulent that's speckled with white scales and flecks. They're also known as Bishop's Hat or Bishop's Miter Cactus (astrophytum myriostigma). They are usually bright green, covered with tiny white hairy scales that give them a chalk-white or silvery-grey look. They are usually 5-sided (star-shaped) but some may have more or less ridges. As they get older, they will become taller and sometimes grow more ridges.

When the Bishop's Cap blooms in the summer month, the flowers are shiny, yellow and fragrant. As they get older, they may even produce a cactus fruit. These succulents need to be water very infrequently, so just let them dry out completely before giving them water. This is a very special succulent. According to Wikipedia, Bishop's Cap has won the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Neato, huh?

The Bishop's Cap kit comes with a 4 inch cube pot in matte black or matte white, 1 lb of Juicykits cactus mix, 1/2 lb of jet black lava rock, and a cute little note card. Supplies are limited, so don't wait to order.

Orders $150 and above receive free domestic shipping! Sorry, we're not allowed to ship plants outside of the continental US.
